The second edition of Hoorae and Walmart’s groundbreaking “Black and Unlimited” digital development program is here! A fresh cohort of talented content creators from diverse backgrounds has been handpicked to embark on a transformative journey towards unlocking their full potential and achieving incredible success.
Empowering Content Creators
The primary goal of the program is to empower emerging content creators by providing them with essential resources, a platform, and unparalleled exposure. This year’s selected group will receive a generous $10,000 stipend to fuel their creative endeavors and foster limitless exploration and innovation.
A Journey to Excellence
To kickstart their creative journey, the cohort will gather in Los Angeles for an immersive weekend workshop. During this time, they will delve deep into their individual niches, honing their skills, and discovering new ways to captivate audiences. What’s more, they will have the unique opportunity to collaborate with Walmart in crafting exclusive content throughout the year.
Meet the Talented Creators
Let’s meet the eight extraordinary content creators chosen for the second cohort:
- Chyanna Antonio (Washington, DC)
- Jamal Moore (Upper Marlboro, MD)
- Nya Étienne (Washington, DC)
- Luv (Boston, MA)
- Darryl Wyrick (Phoenix, AZ)
- Bashel Lewis (New York, NY)
- Lachelle Smith (Los Angeles, CA)
- Georgina Edionseri (Newark, NJ)
Supporting Underrepresented Voices
Monique Francis, Hoorae’s head of marketing, expressed the program’s mission, saying, “Through this initiative, we hope to discover and support talented creators who have been underrepresented in the industry.” By providing these creators with the necessary resources and opportunities, Hoorae and Walmart aim to empower their success and make a lasting impact on the media landscape.
A Commitment to Equity and Inclusivity
The “Black and Unlimited” program, launched in 2022, stands as a testament to Walmart and Hoorae’s unwavering commitment to driving equity and inclusivity within the entertainment industry. D.J. Vaughn, Walmart’s director of multicultural media partnerships, highlighted the positive impact of the inaugural class of creators. It was this impact that fueled their determination to continue the program and collaboration into a second edition.
“In partnership with HOORAE, we have the unique ability to connect creators with resources and tools they may not have access to otherwise, so they can thrive in their field,” Vaughn explained. The program has immense potential for growth, and both Walmart and Hoorae are eagerly looking forward to another year of unparalleled success and empowerment.
