If you’re in the market for a sports car and don’t mind a little bit of a fixer-upper, then this deal might be for you. A Porsche Cayman, which was unfortunately destroyed in a fire, is now up for sale at an incredibly low price of just £6,000.
A Burnt Shell of a Car
The photos of the car listed on Facebook Marketplace show a vehicle that has been badly burnt and stripped of its paint. The exterior is charred black in some areas, with only faint remnants of the original red coat visible. The front and rear bumpers have melted, and some windows are missing, while the remaining panes are cracked and dirty. Despite the extensive damage, the front seat and dashboard appear to be largely intact.
Looks Can be Deceiving
According to the seller in Millbury, Massachusetts, the car looks far worse than it actually is. They believe that once the melted plastic and damaged paint are removed, the car will have a completely different appearance. The engine area is said to be in good condition, and the carpets and covers are still intact. The seller emphasized that this car needs to be seen in person to truly appreciate its potential, as it is not for the faint of heart.
A Project Worth Considering
It’s unclear how the car ended up in its current state, but if you have the skills and resources to restore this Porsche Cayman, it could be a worthwhile project. Brand new, these sports cars would have cost around £100,000, so the asking price of £6,000 is definitely a bargain.
If you’re interested in this unique opportunity, head over to Facebook Marketplace to learn more. Who knows, with some hard work and dedication, you could be cruising in a fully restored Porsche Cayman at a fraction of the original price.
