A Remarkable Career in Entertainment
Prior to establishing Great Point in 2013, Jim Reeve served as the senior investment director at the Ingenious Group. Throughout his career, Reeve accumulated more than 120 credits as a producer or executive producer, collaborating with top talents from both British and international cinema.
Reeve’s impressive filmography began in 1986 with the thriller “The Whistle Blower,” starring Michael Caine and James Fox. An early television credit included “The Wars of the Roses” (1989-91), a series by the English Shakespeare Company that featured the entire cycle of Shakespeare’s history plays and boasted a cast that included Colin Farrell and Michael Pennington.
One of Reeve’s notable highlights was the 2000 film “Shiner,” directed by John Irvin and starring Michael Caine, Martin Landau, and Frances Barber. Reeve’s portfolio further included the romantic comedy “The Wedding Date” (2005), starring Dermot Mulroney, Debra Messing, and Jack Davenport.
In recent years, Reeve backed critically acclaimed films such as the BAFTA-nominated and British Independent Film Awards (BIFA)-winning “Lady Macbeth” (2016), the Golden Globe-winning “The Mauritanian” (2021), the BIFA winner “Blue Jean” (2022), and the BIFA and BAFTA nominated “Scrapper” (2023).
