Ramy Youssef, the talented comedian and creator of the hit series “Ramy,” is set to return to HBO with his latest comedy special, “Ramy Youssef: More Feelings.” This highly-anticipated special will debut on the network in March before streaming on Max.
Youssef will be recording the special on February 2nd and 3rd at White Eagle Hall in Jersey City, not far from his hometown of Rutherford, New Jersey. The special will be directed and executive produced by Christopher Storer, known for his work on the FX/Hulu series “The Bear,” which Youssef also collaborated on.
Following the success of his first HBO comedy special, “Ramy Youssef: Feelings,” which earned him a Critics’ Choice Award nomination and a Writers Guild Award in 2020, Youssef returns with “More Feelings.” As with his previous special, this production is also in partnership with A24. Youssef’s own production company, Cairo Cowboy, is involved, making him the writer, performer, and executive producer. Tyson Binder also serves as an executive producer.
In “Ramy,” which Youssef created, produced, directed, and starred in, he explores the life of a first-generation Egyptian-American and Muslim man who navigates the challenges of living in a politically divided New Jersey town. The series draws inspiration from Youssef’s own experiences and has received critical acclaim, earning numerous nominations and awards, including a Golden Globe for Youssef’s performance in 2020. Additionally, Youssef is the co-creator and executive producer of the Netflix series “Mo,” which follows the story of a Palestinian refugee in Houston, Texas.
Youssef’s talents extend beyond acting and producing. He was also recognized for directing an episode of the Emmy-winning series “The Bear,” alongside Christopher Storer and co-showrunner Joanna Calo. His episode, titled “Honeydew,” showcases pastry chef Marcus’ culinary adventures in Copenhagen and earned him a DGA nomination.
You can currently catch Youssef in Yorgos Lanthimos’ acclaimed film “Poor Things,” which recently received 11 Oscar nominations.
