Now in its 48th year, the Clive Davis Pre-Grammy Gala remains the most anticipated event in the music world. The 2024 edition did not disappoint, showcasing a unique collection of the biggest names in the music and film industries. From mesmerizing performances to star-studded guest appearances, this party had it all.
A Star-Studded Affair
The pre-show cocktail hour was a surreal swirl of star power. Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks, Dua Lipa, and Janelle Monae were just a few of the recognizable faces in attendance. Boygenius, the group consisting of Julien Baker, Brandi Carlile, and others, made a striking entrance in elegant black glam attire. And who could miss the regal presence of Cher and Shania Twain at their respective tables?

Unforgettable Performances
As the night unfolded, the audience was treated to a wide range of extraordinary performances. Green Day kicked off the show with an electrifying rendition of “American Idiot” and “Basket Case.” Tom Hanks delivered a hilarious monologue, and Harvey Mason Jr., the Grammy chief, reflected on the progress made in creating a more diverse music industry.

Ice Spice brought their signature energy to the stage, captivating the audience with their infectious beats. Victoria Monet delivered a flawless, choreographed performance of “On My Mama,” leaving everyone in awe. Legendary Honorees
The night also served as a tribute to Jon Platt, the Grammy Icon honoree and CEO of Sony Music Publishing. Public Enemy set the stage on fire with “Can’t Truss It,” “Bring the Noise,” and “Fight the Power,” chanting Platt’s name at the end. The Isley Brothers followed with an unforgettable rendition of “Shout.” In his heartfelt speech, Jon Platt expressed his gratitude to the artists and executives who supported him throughout his career.

Closing on a High Note
As the clock struck midnight, Maluma took the stage for a captivating performance. The evening reached its grand finale with an all-star rendition of “That’s What Friends Are For” featuring Gladys Knight, Dionne Warwick, Stevie Wonder, Andra Day, and Keyshia Cole. The audience reveled in the magical atmosphere, and as the night came to a close, everyone left with unforgettable memories.
