Pulsar Content has recently announced its collaboration with talented filmmaker Baya Kasmi for her heartwarming family film, “Mikado.” Known for her previous works, including “I’m All Yours” and “The (in)famous Youssef Salem,” Kasmi has once again crafted an engaging story that captures the essence of family dynamics.
A Tale of Unconventional Living
Set to be produced by Karé Production and Films Grand Huit, “Mikado” features Felix Moati, Ramzy Bedia, and Vimala Pons in the lead roles. The film revolves around Mikado and Laetitia, a couple who adopt an alternative lifestyle, traveling in a van with their home-schooled children, Nuage and Zephir. However, one fateful day, their van breaks down, forcing them to experience a somewhat “normal” life during the summer.
Heartwarming and Heartbreaking
Pulsar Content, known for its discerning taste in film selection, is thrilled to take on the international sales of “Mikado.” Gilles Sousa and Marie Garrett, co-founders of Pulsar Content, expressed their immediate infatuation with Kasmi’s script. They described it as both heartwarming and heartbreaking, making it a perfect fit for the talented Felix Moati.
Mention must also be made of Kasmi’s remarkable co-screenwriting credits, including Thomas Lilti’s “Hippocrates: Diary of a French Doctor” and “The Country Doctor,” as well as Michel Leclerc’s “Battle of the Classes,” “The Very Private Life of Mister Sim,” and “The Name of Love.” With such an impressive resume, it is evident that Kasmi’s storytelling prowess will shine through in “Mikado.”
Post-Production Progress
“Mikado” was filmed this summer and is currently in the post-production phase. Memento Distribution, renowned for its commitment to quality French cinema, will handle the film’s release in France.
In addition to “Mikado,” Pulsar Content’s lineup for the European Film Market includes an array of exciting projects. These include Michele Placido’s “Eternal Visionary,” starring Valeria Bruni Tedeschi and Lola Bessis, Ruben Amar’s American road movie “Silver Star,” featuring Grace Van Dien and Troy Leigh-Anne Johnson, the musical “The Opera!” with Vincent Cassel, Fanny Ardant, and Rossy De Palma, Céline Sallette’s directorial debut “Niki,” and David Moreau’s thrilling horror feature “Mads.”
