Have you ever wondered what would happen if Celebrity Big Brother and First Dates collided? Well, wonder no more because tonight’s episode is about to give you the answer. In an unexpected twist, a former Celebrity Big Brother housemate is stepping into the world of First Dates, hoping to find love.

India Willoughby, the former Channel 5 newsreader who shot to fame during Celebrity Big Brother’s Year of the Woman series in 2018, has turned to Fred Sirieix and Merlin Griffiths for assistance in her quest for romance. These two renowned experts are ready to lend a helping hand.

In an exclusive preview of the show’s Be My Valentine spin-off, India, who has been focusing on trans activism in recent years, opens up about her desires and fears. “I love romance, but I don’t want to be a tick on the bedpost and used basically,” she confesses. “I want to find love, who doesn’t?”

India, who has never been on a date or even had a kiss as a woman, dives into uncharted territory during her time on First Dates. Over a Sexy Beast cocktail, she reveals to Merlin that her typical Valentine’s Day consists of sitting at home with takeout and watching a romantic comedy. She even jokes about how she’s figured out who sends her annual Valentine’s Day card. Talk about being perceptive!

Approaching the restaurant with a mix of excitement and trepidation, India admits that stepping into the First Dates restaurant was a terrifying experience for her. Transitioning and becoming her true self took a lot of effort, leaving her with little time or desire to look for love. But this experience on First Dates was an opportunity she couldn’t pass up.

Opening up about her past is always a dilemma for India, but she knew it was necessary. “Hi, I’m India, and I’m trans,” she says, revealing her truth to her date. She wanted their encounter to be like any other normal date. And when she felt comfortable and believed her date was a receptive and trustworthy person, she shared her story.

While the outcome of India’s date remains unknown, one thing is clear: she’s taken a liking to Fred. With a twinkle in his eye and a captivating smile, Fred is the epitome of charm. Unfortunately, he is already engaged. But don’t worry, India has her eyes set on finding someone else.
