Culturally diverse and gender-inclusive Taiwan sets the stage for the captivating and thought-provoking film, “The Chronicles of Libidoists,” created by director Gilles Yang. Known for his exploration of erotic themes in his previous works, Yang presents a fresh twist on the traditional tale of “The Little Mermaid,” where the mermaid is revealed to be a boy.
A Tale of Urban Souls and Unfathomable Solitude
In “The Chronicles of Libidoists,” Yang delves into the lives of four city dwellers, each grappling with their profound sense of loneliness and seeking solace through online connections. The film takes a bold and unapologetic approach in portraying their struggles against the backdrop of modern society.
