A Premier League star is at the center of a police investigation following allegations of racial abuse towards a staff member at a luxury apartment block. The incident occurred when the footballer, described as “agitated” and smelling of alcohol, arrived in the early hours.

The alleged victim, a 50-year-old concierge, claimed that the player used the offensive N-word twice during the altercation, which took place on December 10. The man, who was temporarily covering the reception shift, promptly reported the incident to both the Metropolitan Police and the player’s club.

According to the concierge, the footballer grew increasingly aggressive upon demanding a key. Despite his best efforts to assist, the temporary worker was unable to access the necessary information on the computer system. As tensions escalated, the player resorted to offensive language, referring to the concierge as a “c***” before using the racial slur. Shocked and appalled, the concierge firmly reprimanded the player for his use of such a derogatory term.

Notably, the concierge was not aware of the player’s identity at the time of the incident. His primary focus was on ensuring the safety of the luxury apartment block’s affluent residents. It was only after the player left that the concierge’s colleague informed him of the individual’s fame within the football world. This revelation left the concierge feeling sickened by the encounter.

The concierge promptly contacted the police on December 13 to report the racial abuse he endured. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.

The player’s club has refrained from commenting on the matter until the police investigation is complete. However, the player has denied all allegations.

The Premier League and its affiliated clubs are committed to combating and eradicating all forms of discrimination, both on and off the pitch. Thus, the league takes such allegations extremely seriously.
