Do you think it’s too early to start planning for next Christmas? Well, some savvy shoppers don’t think so! Even though Christmas may be over, that hasn’t stopped them from rushing to the supermarkets to grab discounted meats for the festive holidays next year.

One woman took to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group on Facebook to share her exciting finds after visiting her local Sainsbury’s in Shirley. She posted pictures of the shelves, showcasing turkeys reduced from £45 to £11 and gammons priced at £4.30 instead of £17.

The slow-cooked buttermilk brined turkey crown, wrapped in bacon, was a real steal at that price. And the gammon, described as “melt in the mouth,” was an irresistible bargain.

Shoppers didn’t waste any time commenting on the post. One person exclaimed, “Gammon at a good price!” However, not everyone was lucky enough to find these amazing deals. Another person sadly shared, “Long gone from Southend Sainsbury’s.”

Another shopper named Sharon couldn’t contain her excitement and shared a post about the gammon joint, stating, “Such a bargain and absolutely delicious! It just melted in your mouth and was so tasty!”

Sainsbury’s shared details on their website about the gammon, explaining that it is made using selected cuts of outdoor-bred British pork. It is skillfully butchered, dry cured by hand with sea salt, and finished with a honey & wholegrain mustard glaze for a delightful flavor. That’s why you can taste the difference!

Now, you might be wondering if it’s safe and advisable to freeze these discounted meats until next Christmas. According to the Butterball Turkey Talk Line, a turkey can be stored in the freezer for up to two years and still be safe to cook. However, it’s best to consume meat within three to six months of freezing to maintain quality.

And it’s not just turkeys and gammons. Pigs in blankets, ham, and even prawns can be frozen for some time. Just make sure to consume them within three to six months for the freshest taste.

So, if you want to take advantage of these incredible offers, you better hurry to your nearest Sainsbury’s before they’re all gone. Who doesn’t love a great bargain, especially when it comes to delicious meats for next Christmas?
