The recent unsealed court documents from a 2015 defamation lawsuit filed against Ghislaine Maxwell, the former business partner of billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, have shed new light on the alleged involvement of high-profile individuals in Epstein’s activities. One of the bombshell revelations comes from an alleged victim who claimed in a deposition that Epstein told her Bill Clinton had an interest in young girls.
The court documents, comprising over 900 pages, were made public by Judge Loretta Preska of the Southern District of New York. While being mentioned in the documents does not imply guilt, it has fueled speculation and curiosity. Among the names that have come up so far are former President Bill Clinton and Prince Andrew of the British royal family.
In the deposition, whistleblower Johanna Sjoberg testified that Epstein allegedly told her that Clinton “likes them young” while discussing girls. However, it is important to note that these are allegations and have not been proven in court.
The unsealed documents also include a frantic email from Ghislaine Maxwell, where she expresses her distress about the ongoing media scrutiny and the questions surrounding her relationship with Clinton and Prince Andrew. Maxwell denies Clinton ever visited Epstein’s private island but admits that he dined on Epstein’s private jet.
Virginia Giuffre, another prominent figure in the case, accused Epstein and Maxwell of grooming and trafficking her for Prince Andrew when she was 17. Maxwell, in her deposition, claimed that Andrew had only visited Epstein’s island once, and during that visit, no girls were present, only female staff.
It is worth mentioning that Prince Andrew settled a lawsuit with Giuffre in 2021, but he has consistently denied any wrongdoing. Similarly, Bill Clinton has denied any knowledge of Epstein’s crimes. Former President Donald Trump was also mentioned in the documents, but there is no suggestion of his involvement in any wrongdoing.
The unsealed court documents have brought renewed attention to the Epstein case, which shocked the world when he died by suicide in 2019 while awaiting trial. Ghislaine Maxwell, on the other hand, was convicted and is currently serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking.
