Over 100 talented young filmmakers are gathering in Macau, eager to learn from industry legends such as Amir Naderi, Aleksei German Jr, and Yonfan. This festival is more than just a screening event; it’s an opportunity for aspiring filmmakers to connect, interact, and grow. Through masterclasses and on-stage dialogs, these budding talents will expand their horizons and delve into the intricacies of their craft.
An Immersive Journey
From January 5th to 11th, the Emperor Cinemas multiplex and the Lisboeta Hotel in Macau’s Taipa district will transform into a hub of creativity. Audiences can expect a diverse lineup of 27 films and 17 works in progress, offering a captivating glimpse into the world of emerging cinema. But it doesn’t end there! The festival also presents a series of educational presentations by renowned filmmakers from various regions and cultures.
A Fusion of Cultures
Prepare to be inspired by the perspectives and insights of esteemed directors such as Russia’s Aleksei German Jr., Hong Kong’s Yonfan, The Philippines’ Lav Diaz, and Japan’s Hamaguchi Ryusuke. These luminaries will share their experiences and creative processes, providing a backstage pass to the world of cinema. Additionally, two-handed stage talks featuring India’s Anurag Kashyap, Italy’s Gabriele Mainetti, Mainland China’s Li Dongmei, and Taiwan’s Lee Hong-chi promise to be thought-provoking and enlightening.

“The Movie Emperor’s” director, Ning Hao, known for his versatile repertoire spanning art-house and commercial genres, will grace the festival with a post-screening question and answer session.
