The iconic Spice Girls have been immortalized on a collection of stamps to commemorate their 30th anniversary. This special stamp collection, released by Royal Mail, pays tribute to the legendary girl group and their incredible journey.

A Collectible Stamp Set

The collection features 15 stamps, each showcasing a different aspect of the Spice Girls’ career. One of the stamps captures their unforgettable appearance at the 1997 Brit Awards, a moment that has become etched in music history. These stamps not only celebrate the Spice Girls’ immense success but also their influence on the world of music.

A Milestone Achievement

Being featured on a dedicated stamp collection is a significant honor, and the Spice Girls are only the sixth musical group to receive this tribute. They follow in the footsteps of legendary bands like The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Queen, The Rolling Stones, and Iron Maiden. However, the Spice Girls hold a special distinction as the first girl band to be celebrated by the Royal Mail.

The Spice Girls themselves, Geri Horner, Mel B, Victoria Beckham, Emma Bunton, and Mel C, expressed their excitement and shared their iconic catchphrase: “That’s Girl Power!”

Musical Success

The Spice Girls made history with their debut single, “Wannabe,” which skyrocketed to number one on the UK Singles Chart on July 20, 1996. Remaining at the top for an impressive seven weeks, it marked the beginning of their remarkable journey. They went on to achieve six consecutive number one hits, captivating the world with their infectious energy and empowering messages.

Despite narrowly missing out on a seventh consecutive number one with “Stop” in 1998, the Spice Girls continued to dominate the charts with three more chart-topping singles.
