Tragedy unfolded in Missouri as a teenager stands accused of a heinous crime. Jackson Pierce, an 18-year-old from St. Peters, Missouri, has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of Dalton Coleman, a 23-year-old from O’Fallon. Shockingly, the victim was shot more than a dozen times and discovered wrapped up in an air mattress.

A Disturbing Revelation

According to authorities, the harrowing incident came to light when a witness contacted the police. The witness claimed to have been at Pierce’s residence but left while Pierce, another individual, and a minor were present. Later on, Pierce allegedly confessed to the witness that he had killed a man who had tried to attack him. This revelation prompted the witness to inform the police, setting off a chain of events that would uncover a truly disturbing crime.

The Shocking Details

Upon investigation, authorities discovered gruesome details of the incident. Pierce reportedly claimed that he and the victim had a confrontation in the bedroom, involving a gun. When the victim did not immediately go down after being shot three to four times, Pierce continued to shoot. Astonishingly, Pierce admitted to shooting the victim a staggering 14 times.

Police surveillance of Pierce’s home led to the involvement of a SWAT unit. Pierce and the minor were apprehended without further incident. During a search of the premises, investigators uncovered a rolled-up air mattress bound with an electrical cord. To their horror, they later discovered the victim’s lifeless body inside the mattress, with a plastic bag over his head secured by the same cord.

Pierce’s Account

Pierce claimed that the victim forced his way into his bedroom, resulting in a physical altercation. He alleged that the man attempted to hit him and showed interest in the gun. In response, Pierce seized the opportunity to gain control of the weapon and fired it repeatedly until it was empty.

Charges and Consequences

In addition to second-degree murder, Pierce now faces charges of armed criminal action and tampering with physical evidence. He has pleaded not guilty and is being represented by a public defender. On Thursday night, Pierce was placed in St. Charles County Jail with a cash-only bond set at $1 million.
