The outfit was nothing short of “naked” as the dress was so sheer that wearing underwear was out of the question. Fashionista Dawn, known as @dawnannawilliamson on TikTok, is an influencer who loves recreating famous outfits from popular TV shows like Sex and the City, Friends, and Gossip Girl. In one of her recent clips, she faithfully recreated Carrie Bradshaw’s iconic “naked dress” look from the first season of the show.
Carrie’s original outfit consisted of a short, thin slip dress that matched her skin tone, making her appear as though she was completely naked. Paired with a mid-calf length fur coat, a gold clutch bag, and nude heels, the entire ensemble made a bold fashion statement.
Although the original dress was designed by Donna Karen, Dawn managed to find a copy of it from the early 2000s that she had never worn. The nude-colored slip dress had spaghetti straps and a low-cut back, intentionally designed to give the illusion of being unclothed. As for the coat, Carrie’s was a vintage Pierre Cardin, but Dawn found a faux fur alternative that looked just as chic.
To complete the look, our fashion enthusiast opted for a pair of nude heels, which she said made her legs look even longer, and a stunning gold-colored Fendi clutch bag. The outfit left no room for undergarments, as the dress was so sheer that anything worn underneath would be visible.
Despite the revealing nature of the outfit, Dawn surprisingly found it to be comfortable. She felt like an authentic Carrie Bradshaw, and the final look received heaps of admiration from her viewers.
“I would love to pull that off. Looks amazing on you,” commented one viewer. To which Dawn responded, “Thank you! It’s a bold look for sure.” Another viewer chimed in, saying, “Very Carrie. Nailed it.”
