Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas

Actor Sophie Turner’s legal battle to have her two children returned to the UK from the US, where they were being held by her ex-husband, Joe Jonas, has been dismissed by a New York judge. The “Game of Thrones” star and the pop singer, once a beloved Hollywood couple, announced their separation on September 6, after four years of marriage.

Since their split, there has been a custody dispute over the couple’s young children, who were born in 2020 and 2022. Turner filed a lawsuit in September, accusing Jonas of wrongfully keeping their kids in New York City while he was on tour with the Jonas Brothers, instead of returning them to England where she was working on a series. She claimed that he refused to hand over the children’s passports.

Jonas’s representative stated that the singer believed in amicable co-parenting and that he held onto the passports because doing otherwise would violate a court order in Florida, where their divorce proceedings began.

However, a New York judge dismissed the case with the consent of both parties, citing a temporary child custody agreement reached in October. This agreement allowed the parents to alternate time with the children. In addition, the judge noted that Jonas and Turner had filed a consent order with the Family Division of the High Court of England and Wales, which was approved on January 11.

It remains to be seen what will happen next in the ongoing custody battle between Turner and Jonas. Both parties have chosen to keep the details of their personal lives private, and their attorneys have yet to comment on the dismissal.
