Marvel’s upcoming team-up film, “Thunderbolts,” has made some exciting casting announcements. Geraldine Viswanathan, known for her role in “Blockers,” has joined the cast, replacing Ayo Edebiri who had to bow out due to scheduling conflicts. Although Viswanathan’s role has not been disclosed, the talented actress is sure to bring her unique flair to the project.
A Star-Studded Anti-Hero Lineup
“Thunderbolts” boasts an ensemble cast of Marvel Cinematic Universe’s most beloved anti-heroes. Sebastian Stan will reprise his role as the Winter Soldier, alongside Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Wyatt Russell as John Walker (aka U.S. Agent), Hannah John-Kamen as Ava Starr (aka Ghost), Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. This film is Marvel’s take on the popular DC anti-hero team, The Suicide Squad.
Creative Team and Casting Changes
Directed by Jake Schreier, known for his work on “Paper Towns” and “Beef,” “Thunderbolts” promises an exciting mix of action and intrigue. The script is penned by Eric Pearson, who previously worked on “Black Widow.” However, the film has experienced some casting adjustments. Prior to Ayo Edebiri’s departure, Steven Yeun also left the project in January. Lewis Pullman stepped in to take on Yeun’s role.
