Kate Garraway, the beloved TV star, is set to make an emotional return to Good Morning Britain just days after the funeral of her husband, Derek Draper. This news comes after Derek’s heartbreaking passing on January 5, following a four-year battle with Covid-19.
In an Instagram post, Kate confirmed the devastating news, saying, “I’m sad to have to tell you all that my darling husband Derek has passed away. As some of you may know, he has been critically ill following a cardiac arrest in early December, which, because of the damage inflicted by Covid-19 in March 2020, led to further complications. Derek was surrounded by his family in his final days, and I was by his side, holding his hand throughout the last long hours and when he passed.”
Keen to Keep Busy and Reunite with GMB Family
During this difficult time of mourning, Kate Garraway has expressed her desire to stay busy and return to work. Being on live TV and reporting is what she knows and loves. Kate’s close friends have revealed that she is a workhorse, and despite the toll it has taken on her mentally and physically, she is eager to get back into the swing of things. The Good Morning Britain team is thrilled to welcome her back, considering it the perfect time for her to be reunited with her GMB family.
