Prince Harry’s upcoming visit to the UK has sparked speculation about his accommodation, as his wife Meghan remains in California. The Duke of Sussex plans to fly to Britain to be with his father, King Charles, following the monarch’s recent cancer diagnosis. However, it is unclear where Harry will stay during his visit.

Uncertainty over Accommodation Plans

While Meghan, along with their children Archie and Lilibet, will stay at their Montecito mansion, Prince Harry’s temporary residence remains a mystery. Last year, the couple was asked to vacate their former home, Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, by King Charles. Now, any stay with the royal family on protected property reportedly requires a formal invitation.

During a previous visit to the UK in September, Harry’s request to stay on the royal estate was refused. Consequently, he stayed in a hotel while attending a charity event in London. On that occasion, he expressed a desire to stay at Windsor Castle in order to visit the Queen’s tomb at St George’s Chapel. According to royal sources, Harry may be accommodated on the crown estate when arrangements are made in advance.

Strained Family Relationships

Harry’s strained relationship with his father has also contributed to the uncertainty surrounding his accommodations. After Harry and Meghan handed over the keys to Frogmore Cottage, King Charles reportedly suggested that Prince Andrew move into the residence. However, Andrew, who currently shares the Royal Lodge in Windsor with his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, has resisted the idea. Andrew is reluctant to vacate the property, having spent £7 million of his own money on roof repairs.

Harry’s Journey Home

Harry recently arrived at an LAX terminal in Los Angeles, driving his black Range Rover. He received news of his father’s cancer diagnosis directly from King Charles, prompting his immediate return to the UK. Although inclement weather in California initially disrupted his travel plans, Harry is expected to land in the UK around midday today.

King Charles has already begun his treatment and temporarily postponed public engagements. During his recent hospitalization for a separate issue, tests revealed the presence of cancer. The King remains positive about his treatment and appreciates the support of his medical team. While King Charles focuses on his recovery, other members of the royal family will assume additional duties on his behalf.
