Shannen Doherty, fighting back tears, addressed Alyssa Milano’s recent comments about her departure from “Charmed” during a panel at MegaCon Orlando. Doherty, alongside co-stars Holly Marie Combs and Rose McGowan, spoke about the claims she made on her “Let’s Be Clear” podcast, where she alleged that Milano played a key role in her firing from the fantasy drama series.

Doherty clarified that she and Combs were not mean on the podcast, editing out anything that could cause more drama. They wanted to share the truth, believing it was essential for the fans while trying to spare them heartbreak. Doherty, who is currently receiving treatment for stage 4 breast cancer, emphasized the importance of telling the truth amid her health struggles.

At the panel, Doherty stated, “We told our truths, and we are standing by our truths. There is no revisionist history happening.” Doherty, an original cast member, was killed off after three seasons, with her character Prue being replaced by Rose McGowan’s Paige.

In a December episode of the podcast, Doherty and Combs revealed that Doherty was fired due to an ultimatum Milano gave producers. Combs shared that producer Jonathan Levin informed her about Milano’s ultimatum, where Alyssa claimed it was either Shannen or her, threatening to sue for a hostile workplace environment. Milano allegedly documented every instance she felt uncomfortable on set with the help of a mediator.

However, Milano denied these claims during a separate panel at MegaCon, expressing sadness that the show has been tarnished by toxicity. She emphasized that she did not have the power to get anyone fired and labeled the retelling of these stories as “revisionist history.”

It’s evident that tensions still exist between the former “Charmed” cast members. Their differing accounts and perspectives have led to a public dispute. As fans, we can only hope that they are eventually able to move past this and celebrate the success of a show that meant so much to all of us.
