Pearl Jam fans around the world, get ready to rock! The legendary band has just made a thrilling announcement: they are releasing their twelfth studio album, titled “Dark Matter,” on April 19. But that’s not all – they are also embarking on a massive world tour to celebrate the new music. Exciting, right?
A Global Adventure
The highly anticipated world tour will kick off in May, shortly after the album’s release, and will take Pearl Jam to nine countries and 25 cities. The journey begins at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, and includes iconic venues like Wrigley Field, Madison Square Garden, Fenway Park, and even a long-awaited hometown performance in Seattle’s Climate Pledge Arena.
Alongside Pearl Jam, the audience will also be treated to special guest performances by Deep Sea Diver, Glen Hansard, The Murder Capital, Richard Ashcroft, and Pixies. With such an incredible lineup, every show promises to be an unforgettable experience.
The Making of “Dark Matter”
Pearl Jam’s “Dark Matter” was produced by the immensely talented Andrew Watt, a multi-Grammy award-winning producer. This album marks their first release since 2020’s “Gigaton” and features 11 captivating songs. The band will take you on a sonic journey that was written and recorded in just three weeks at the prestigious Shangri-La Studios in Malibu.
Eddie Vedder, the band’s frontman, shared his thoughts on the creative process, stating, “We’re still looking for ways to communicate. We care about putting something out there that is meaningful, and we hopefully think it’s our best work.” Bassist Jeff Ament added, “A lot of that had to do with the atmosphere Andrew set up. He has encyclopedic knowledge of our history, not only as a band but as players. His excitement was contagious. I just want to say thanks for keeping us on track.”
A Special Record Store Day Edition
In addition to the album release, Pearl Jam is also participating in Record Store Day. On April 20, they will release a special edition of “Dark Matter” to celebrate indie record stores. It’s another way for the band to connect with their fans and show their support for the music community.
