F5 Magazine—In an exciting collaboration, the talented star of “Till,” Danielle Deadwyler, teams up with acclaimed director Jaume Collet-Serra for the thrilling film “The Woman in the Yard,” produced by Blumhouse and Universal Pictures. With a screenplay by Sam Stefanak, this highly anticipated movie is set to hit theaters on January 10, 2025.

Blumhouse founder Jason Blum expressed his excitement, revealing that he has been eager to work with Collet-Serra for over a decade. “The Woman in the Yard” is the perfect project that combines their vision and Deadwyler’s incomparable talent, Blum shared in a statement.

Apart from her starring role, Deadwyler is also executive producing the film alongside Collet-Serra, Gabrielle Ebron, Scott Greenberg, and James Mora. Producers Jason Blum and Stephanie Allain are on board as well. Haley Pigman and Jungyoon Kim will oversee the film for Blumhouse.

“The Woman in the Yard” marks a reunion for Collet-Serra and Deadwyler, who previously collaborated on the upcoming Netflix film “Carry On.” Deadwyler is widely recognized for her remarkable performances in the biopic “Till,” where she portrayed Emmett Till’s mother, and the Western film “The Harder They Fall.” Audiences can look forward to seeing her in A24’s “I Saw the TV Glow” and Netflix’s adaptation of “The Piano Lesson,” alongside John David Washington and Samuel L. Jackson.

Collet-Serra, known for his work on DC’s “Black Adam” and Disney’s “Jungle Cruise,” brings his exceptional directing skills to “The Woman in the Yard.” He has previously helmed thrilling movies such as “Unknown” and horror films like “Orphan” and “House of Wax.” His expertise will undoubtedly elevate the suspense in this upcoming project.
