Pokémon fans all around the world are eagerly anticipating the upcoming Pokémon Day and the thrilling announcements that come with it. While there’s still a lot of speculation and rumors swirling in the air, nothing has been confirmed just yet. But that hasn’t stopped us, the Pokémon experts, from making our predictions on what we can expect to see.

Live-service updates – Pokémon Presents

As usual, the Pokémon Presents event will kick off with updates and exciting events for the live-service games. These announcements typically include free in-game items, upcoming events, and new additions. Fans can look forward to updates for popular games like Pokémon Café Remix, Pokémon Unite, Pokémon Masters EX, Pokémon Go, Pokémon Sleep, and possibly TCG Live. While these announcements may not be earth-shattering, they are always appreciated by players.

Worlds reveals – Pokémon Presents

This year, the Pokémon World Championships are set to take place in the beautiful city of Honolulu, Hawaii. So far, only a short teaser for the event has been released. The Championships will feature competitive tournaments for Pokémon Go, Pokémon TCG, Pokémon Unite, and Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. We can expect to learn the exact dates for the event and get more exciting information about what lies ahead.

Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Events – Pokémon Presents

Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, the first mainline Pokémon game to incorporate live-service elements, has been a huge success. With regular Mystery Gift giveaways and thrilling tera raid events, we can anticipate announcements related to these events during Pokémon Presents. While we might not see something as monumental as last year’s Mewtwo event, a new seven-star tera raid announcement and some Mystery Gifts are likely on the horizon.

Pokémon movies – Pokémon Presents

Following the triumph of Detective Pikachu and the Super Mario Bros. Movie, it’s highly probable that another Pokémon movie is in the works. Given that a sequel to the original Detective Pikachu game was released last year, “Detective Pikachu Returns” might just be the perfect candidate for a film. Additionally, it’s been a while since we’ve seen an animated Pokémon movie since 2020, so an announcement in this regard wouldn’t be surprising. Keep an eye out for news about Pokémon TV shows, short films, and series as well.

Older Pokémon games on Switch – Pokémon Presents

While it may be less likely, we still have reason to believe that there might be some exciting announcements related to older Pokémon games coming to the Switch. The teaser for the event itself featured music from Pokémon Red and Blue, fueling rumors that these beloved classics might make a comeback. Whether they’ll be standalone games or added to Nintendo Switch Online remains to be seen. However, fans have been eagerly requesting the return of Red and Blue on the Switch, so this would certainly be a pleasant surprise.

Mainline Pokémon games – Pokémon Presents

Considering that the Pokémon Scarlet & Violet DLC was just recently released, it seems unlikely that we’ll see any mainline Pokémon game reveals at the Pokémon Presents event. However, if a new game is announced, we have a few ideas of what it could be. There are signs pointing towards a game involving the Johto or Unova regions, thanks to recent Johto evolutions and regional forms, as well as the inclusion of Unova in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. These games will likely take the form of either Let’s Go titles or Legends games centered around one of these regions. While Unova remakes are a possibility, given the recent release of Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, it seems less likely.
