Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis reportedly caused a stir by chasing referee Paul Tierney down the tunnel following Forest’s 1-0 defeat against Liverpool. The incident occurred just moments after Darwin Nunez scored a controversial 99th-minute winner for Liverpool, securing their victory.
An Unforgettable Scene
According to BBC 5Live, Marinakis, visibly enraged by the outcome of the match, was swiftly removed by security personnel after pursuing Tierney. This incident added a dramatic twist to an already intense Premier League clash at the City Ground.
Fuming Forest Fans
The match seemed to be heading towards a draw when Liverpool’s Ibrahim Konate went down with a supposed head injury. However, much to Forest’s dismay, Konate quickly recovered, and Tierney decided to restart the game with a drop-ball at the feet of Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher.
Forest fans were left seething with anger at the referee’s decision. But their frustration peaked when Nunez received a pass and successfully found the back of the net, securing Liverpool’s victory.
