The Budget announcement today brings hopeful news for millions of workers as National Insurance is set to be slashed. While it may not be a trendy topic to discuss, the two consecutive 2p cuts, including this year’s, will result in an average worker enjoying an additional £900 per year in take-home pay. This extra income is certainly not something to be taken lightly.
Moreover, let’s not forget the positive impact of freezing fuel duty on our wallets. Thanks to The Sun’s Keep It Down campaign, our expenses at the pump won’t be worsening anytime soon.
Chancellor Jeremy Hunt is also on the right track by highlighting the need to cut waste. This includes curbing unnecessary spending on woke initiatives and the overpayment of agency workers in the NHS. These measures will help create a more efficient and financially responsible system.
As we eagerly await the Budget, we hope to see a freeze in booze duty and the removal, or at least a delay, of the “taxi tax” that would impose VAT on cab fares. These changes would offer additional relief to hardworking individuals.
There’s no doubt that this Budget represents a last-ditch effort for the Tories, who are currently trailing in the polls by a significant margin. However, Mr. Hunt’s options are limited due to financial constraints and a stagnating economy.
Voters are yearning for better times. They want to see an increase in their disposable income and a revitalization of our crumbling public services. Both major parties must present convincing plans for a brighter future today.
We live in hope.
Left in the Lurch
Since the horrific events of October 7, the United Nations has shown little support for Israel. Even before those atrocities, it seemed more inclined to pass resolutions condemning the liberal democracy of Israel rather than the world’s most oppressive dictatorships.
Adding to the concern is the close relationship between some of the UN’s Gaza staff and Hamas terrorists. In fact, it has been revealed that some UN staff members are part of the Hamas terrorist group.
Recently, the UN reluctantly admitted that it possesses “convincing information” regarding the rape and sexual torture of Jewish hostages in Gaza. Furthermore, on October 7, Hamas gang-raped victims, some of whom were already deceased.
What does this mean for the pro-Hamas Left? Until now, they have conveniently ignored these abhorrent crimes, refusing to acknowledge their occurrence. Therefore, we shouldn’t expect any apologies or remorse from them.
Meanwhile, the “Palestine Solidarity Campaign,” which is supported by some Labour MPs, has invited a notorious plane hijacker and denier of the events on October 7 to speak at their next fundraising event. It is appalling to witness the sickness of the hard-Left, who are willing to support racism, rape, and terror.
Peers’ Shame
How can members of the House of Lords justify their attempts to undermine the Rwanda Scheme? While the tragic deaths of three small-boat migrants occurred last Wednesday, a seven-year-old girl lost her life on Sunday. Additionally, on Monday, 401 individuals entered the country illegally, burdening the public with the responsibility of providing them with food, shelter, and clothing.
Unfortunately, neither the Labour Party nor the Lords have presented any viable solutions to address this pressing issue. These unelected individuals seem more interested in appearing “inclusive” and generous with the hard-earned money of ordinary citizens.
