In the glamorous world of Apple TV+’s newest series “Palm Royale,” fashion is everything. The show follows Maxine Dellacourt (played by Kristin Wiig) as she navigates the high society of Palm Beach’s country clubs. And as any social climber knows, appearances are key.

In one of the show’s early episodes, Maxine’s 1960s Gucci clutch becomes a telltale sign of her lower-class background. As one of her prospective friends points out, the clutch is lovely and of good quality, but it gives away her true status.

Costume designer Alix Friedberg, known for her work on series like “Big Little Lies,” made sure to source authentic vintage pieces for the show. Each scene bursts with brightly patterned caftans, bold sunglasses, statement jewelry, and eccentric headgear. Fashion enthusiasts will recognize many of the ensembles from retro runways, featuring designers such as Pucci, Bill Blass, Malcom Starr, and, of course, Gucci.

Speaking about her styling process, Friedberg admitted that finding pieces that didn’t look too worn was quite a challenge. She wanted everyone to look like they had just cut the tags off their outfits. And, of course, no one ever repeats an outfit. That would be scandalous!

To celebrate the show’s fabulous fashion, Friedberg collaborated with luxury consignment store The RealReal to curate an edit inspired by “Palm Royale.” The exclusive collection features a range of designer pieces that would make anyone fit right in at Palm Beach’s most exclusive country club, The Palm Royale.
