Queen Camilla met representatives from the RNLI as she visited community groups in Onchan, Isle of Man

The Queen has made a playful remark about her grandson Louis during a royal visit to the Isle of Man. While the comment is believed to be about Kate and William’s youngest child, it is worth noting that the Queen actually has another grandson named Louis. Louis Lopes, the son of Camilla’s daughter Laura Lopes and Page at last year’s Coronation, also carries the name.

Queen Camilla’s Visit

During her visit, Queen Camilla received a warm welcome as she stepped in for King Charles, who is currently dealing with a cancer diagnosis. Dressed in blue, she greeted the well-wishers with cheers and delivered a speech on behalf of her husband.

She also met members of the public as she visited Douglas Borough Council

The Queen presented bouquets of flowers and even posed for photos with the delighted crowds in Douglas. Among the well-wishers were Rachael Hughes and her 15-week old twins, Louie and Oliver. It was during this time that the Queen made her lighthearted comment about Louis, saying, “I have a Louis grandson… quite a handful.”

A Special Occasion

The Queen then proceeded to the council chamber to present the Letters Patent. This marked the first time she has conferred city status without the King by her side. Camilla stood to address the chamber and read a speech prepared by the King, expressing his disappointment at not being able to attend due to his health condition.
