Steve Harvey Joins Dr. Phil's Merit Street Media

Call it a daytime double.

Steve Harvey, the charismatic host of a popular daytime talk show and the iconic game show “Family Feud,” is teaming up with Dr. Phil McGraw in an exciting new venture. Harvey will be involved in production, talent development, and other services for Dr. Phil’s latest TV endeavor, Merit Street Media. The partnership between Merit Street Media and religious media company Trinity Broadcasting will see the broadcasting of a full programming schedule. As part of this collaboration, Harvey will become an equity partner in Merit Street.

“Steve and I have been personal friends for over a decade, and it’s always the best experience when we work together,” said McGraw in a statement. “It’s easy to say that he’s the funniest human I’ve ever met, but his kindness and his passion to help others are really unmatched.”

One of the first projects that Harvey and McGraw will co-produce is a special that focuses on a mentoring program run by Harvey in Georgia for young men. The program aims to inspire and empower young viewers. Additionally, Merit Street has acquired more than 300 episodes of Harvey’s syndicated daytime talk show, “Steve,” which aired from 2017 to 2019.

“Partnering with my good friend on such an innovative network allows me to continue my mission of empowering and inspiring individuals through entertainment,” Harvey shared in a statement. “The docu-style special highlighting the impactful work of the Steve & Marjorie Harvey Foundation is particularly close to my heart. I believe in the power of mentorship to transform lives and look forward to sharing this journey with viewers. The positive impact we can create together will be unlike anything seen before.”

Merit Street Media plans to distribute its new lineup of programming through cable, satellite, and broadcast stations. With commitments already exceeding 65 million television homes, the network is poised for success. Trinity’s programming is available on satellite distributors such as DirecTV and Dish, as well as cable systems owned by Charter and Altice. In addition to the collaboration with Steve Harvey, Merit Street has also secured a deal with Nancy Grace, who will delve into true-crime stories in a new show set to debut on the network.
