Who was Bray Wyatt?
Bray Wyatt, whose real name was Windham Rotunda, was an American professional wrestler. Born on May 23, 1987, in Florida, he was the son of wrestler Mike Rotunda and grandson of wrestler Blackjack Mulligan. His brother, Taylor Rotunda, also performed in the WWE under the name Bo Dallas.
Wyatt was once married to real estate agent Samantha Rotunda. Although they split in 2017, they welcomed two daughters, Cadyn and Kendyl Rotunda, during their relationship. After his marriage ended, Wyatt entered a relationship with his fiancée JoJo Offerman, a professional wrestler best known for her role on the reality show Total Divas. Together, they had a son named Knash Sixx in May 2019, followed by a daughter named Hyrie Von the following year.
Following Wyatt’s death, the WWE announced that all net proceeds from his merchandise sales would go to support JoJo Offerman and their children.
What illness did Bray Wyatt have?
Wyatt hadn’t been seen on TV since February 2023, with rumors suggesting he was dealing with an injury. However, it has since been reported that he had been suffering from heart issues that were brought on by a bout of Covid-19. Wrestling reporter Sean Ross Sapp shared online that Wyatt had been making progress shortly before his death. He revealed that Wyatt had contracted COVID-19 earlier in the year, which exacerbated his heart issues. Despite positive progress towards recovery, he unfortunately suffered a heart attack and passed away.
According to the Mail Online, the WWE had been taking precautions to ensure Wyatt’s long-term health stability before he died. They reported that his illness was both career and life-threatening.

What was Bray Wyatt’s cause of death?
Wyatt’s death was confirmed on August 25, 2023, by WWE. The promotion stated, “WWE is saddened to learn that Windham Rotunda, also known as Bray Wyatt, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 24, at age 36.” It was reported that he died after suffering a heart attack.
